Arrested for DWI in Hammonton New Jersey
Law Enforcement Officers use techniques published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to determine if a suspected drunk driver exhibits signs of impairment. These observations include the administration of the Standard Field Sobriety Tests (SFST’s) in almost all DWI investigations. They include the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) Test, the Walk & Turn and the One-Leg Stand Test; all of which are used to conclude whether or not there exists Probable Cause to place you under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Thereafter, based upon your BAC reading; which will generally be measured by the Alcotest 7110, you will be charged with Driving Under the Influence and shall be subject to the various severe penalties mentioned above.
