Obtaining CDS by Fraud Offense in Camden New Jersey
N.J.S.A. 2C:35-13 prohibits someone from acquiring or obtaining drugs/CDS through misrepresentation, fraud, forgery, deception or subterfuge. In order to convict you of this offense, the prosecutor must establish that you: (1) acquired or obtained possession of CDS; and (2) that you utilized misrepresentation, fraud, forgery, deception, or subterfuge. The typical scenarios for this violation include forging a prescription tablet, completing a stolen blank prescription, modifying the dosage or quantity of a valid prescription or posing as a nurse, doctor or other representatives to facilitate the dispensing of medication.
